It Was 50 Years Ago Today...

With the words of the Beatles and the immortal song of Don McLean, it was 50 years ago today that the music died. Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper and Buddy Holly all died in a plane crash in Clear Lake, Iowa enroute from Mason City as part of the "Winter Dance Party".

As a fan of all 3 musicians and the genre they inspired, this is truly a day to remember.

Shotgun Shell Flash Drive

So, I'm reading Instructables.com last November and saw a flash drive set into an eraser and got the idea to sink one into a 12 gauge shotgun shell.

I cut the top off the shell and removed the shot, powder, wadding and all, then taped a marble to the bottom and threw it in the road to fire the primer. I then filled the shell with liquid nails and set the drive inside.

I sent this version to my brother for Christmas and have a slew of idears (idears is a word my brother and I use for projects) for many more. My son saw this project and made his own cool Lego thumb drive.
